Advanced Fly Fishing

Course Overview

The Advanced course is designed for anglers with about five years of practical fly-fishing experience. Many anglers select this course after already attending a Beginner or Intermediate course, or because they want to take their current skills to the next level. If you fish often, and are interested in learning modern, professional techniques tried and tested in international fly-fishing competitions, or simply want to achieve better results more consistently, this course is for you!

This course includes substantial casting work and, more importantly, the on-water, guided execution of a number of the fly-fishing methods mentioned above. You will practice these methods on large, clever fish and net your own fish in difficult terrain. This is not easy fishing, but it is invaluable fist-hand experience which you can employ for years to come.

We strongly encourage you to bring all of your fly fishing gear with you (if possible) to ensure a personalised experience tailed to your own gear. At Rainbow Springs, you will fly fish for seriously educated fish that are very difficult to catch. The terrain for casting and presenting your fly may be difficult, and you may get wet. This course is guaranteed to take your fly fishing skills and knowledge to the next level.
